Our Café Vino is grown and harvested in the Aceh province (Gayo Highlands) on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. There it matures in tropical mixed forests at an altitude of approximately 1,500 meters.

Unlike conventional coffee, the coffee cherries are not washed and dried immediately, but are allowed to ferment for over three months, just like a fine wine. Our coffee ripens in warm tropical mountain air at elevations over 1,500 meters. The Arabica beans are sun-kissed on the mountain slopes of Aceh and Lake Toba and, after harvest, are dry-processed.
