Our Mandheling comes from the island of Sumatra. There, the coffee cherries ripen in the tropical rainforest in the Aceh region at an altitude of 1,200 to 1,600 meters.

For good reason, Sumatra's inhabitants call it the "Island of (Coffee) Gold." Sumatra is Indonesia's second-largest island and one of the region's largest coffee-growing areas. Our coffee ripens in warm tropical mountain air at elevations over 1,500 meters. The Arabica beans are sun-kissed on the mountain slopes of Aceh and Lake Toba and, after harvest, are dry-processed.
